Israeli forces on Saturday began leveling large areas around Ein Samia, part of the village of Kafr Malik northeast of Ramallah, uprooting dozens of fruit-bearing olive trees in an area with wells that supply water to several Palestinian communities.
On Wednesday, Oct. 14, Israeli bulldozers uprooted hundreds of olive trees and razed about 35 dunums in the southern part of the village along the bypass road. Footage aired by TRT World shows military bulldozers tearing trees from the ground and leaving them broken across the land as Israeli forces stand by.
Military order targets 56 dunums
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Israeli authorities issued Military Order 98/26 targeting 56.026 dunums of Kafr Malik land, requiring the removal of wild vegetation and olive trees for “security measures.” Landowners must carry out the removal within seven days, or Israeli authorities will do so themselves.
The commission said the number of military orders to remove trees and vegetation has risen to 55 since the start of 2026, covering 2,372.606 dunums, compared with 47 orders in all of 2025.

An olive harvest under attack
The olive harvest in the West Bank officially began on Oct. 15, and the commission has documented 21 attacks targeting the season in six governorates. Such incidents typically include beatings, detentions, pepper-spray attacks, property theft, tree felling and road closures. Of 29 Palestinian and international organizations working in the West Bank, 79% reported that their staff had recently been attacked, threatened or harassed.
In September, the Israeli army uprooted 400 olive trees and destroyed 31 dunums in Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah.
