Around 2,000 people demonstrated in Berlin to mark the third year of the war in Gaza, calling for an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories.
The march, held on Saturday in front of the Chancellery, was organized under the slogan “United4Palestine – There is no peace on stolen land.” Demonstrators carried numerous Palestinian flags.
The banners read “Genocide in the name of national interests” and “End the terror of occupation.” The crowd chanted “Free Palestine” and also used slogans asserting that Palestine has the right to defend itself with stones and weapons.
Another demonstration held in Berlin
Another march, attended by several hundred people, was held in Berlin on Wednesday in support of the rights of Palestinians. Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg also took part in the demonstration.

Both demonstrations called for an end to the war in Gaza, accountability for Israel over war crimes and an end to Germany’s arms shipments to Israel.
