Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly that no solution based on the forced expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank could be accepted.
Madbouly said the Palestinian issue was one of the clearest indicators of the imbalance in the global system. He said the suffering, oppression and violations endured by the Palestinian people should not be normalized or allowed to become a crisis managed over an extended period.
Madbouly said, "Egypt categorically rejects the forced displacement of the Palestinian people living in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Peace cannot be built on the expulsion of a people from their own land."
Call for a ceasefire and aid in Gaza
The Egyptian prime minister called for all provisions of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza to be implemented. He called for Israeli forces to withdraw from the area, ongoing violations in Gaza to end and obstacles to the delivery of humanitarian aid to be removed.
The Nile River and water security
In his speech, Madbouly said the Nile River was not merely an economic resource for Egypt, describing it as a vital lifeline historically linked to the existence and development of Egyptian society.
Madbouly said water security was an existential issue for Egypt and that his country would not compromise on it.
