The Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed U.S. officials, that U.S. President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s seven-day ceasefire proposal. It said Trump was considering resuming attacks on Iran after the November midterm elections.

The Wall Street Journal also reported that Trump had told his aides he hoped to resume the attacks and was reluctant to return to large-scale military operations. The report said the United States’ desire to preserve its ammunition stockpiles was among the reasons for this position.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran had submitted a seven-day plan to the United States through mediators to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic. Araghchi said the decision on the matter rests with Washington.
