The European Union called on the Houthis to immediately halt their attacks on Saudi Arabia and areas under the control of Yemen’s government.
The European External Action Service said in a statement that civilian infrastructure had been targeted and that there had been casualties during the attacks. It stressed that targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure was unacceptable.
The statement said the Houthis’ actions pointed to a dangerous escalation and further undermined regional stability. The European Union said the attacks threatened efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Yemen.
