A large fire broke out in olive groves in the town of Deir Sharaf, west of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank. Local Palestinian sources and residents said Israeli settlers started the blaze.

Footage from the area shows flames and thick smoke rising from farmland along the road. The number of damaged trees has not yet been determined, and there has been no official Israeli comment.

The fires come as the olive harvest, a key source of income for thousands of Palestinian families, approaches. A September report by the UN humanitarian office OCHA recorded 51 settler attacks during its monitoring period that damaged at least 800 olive, fruit and palm trees across five governorates.
