Iran officially complained to the United Nations Security Council about the US military attacks on its territory. In two separate letters sent to the Council President and the UN Secretary-General, Iran's Permanent Mission to the UN stated that these attacks are a "clear violation" of the UN Charter and the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
The letters stated: "The US, in clear violation of the UN Charter and its international obligations, has once again launched large-scale military attacks against Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity." Iranian diplomats emphasized that the US actions fundamentally violate Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the UN Charter and Article 1 of the Islamabad Agreement.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Thursday that the attacks were in their second day. The statement said that approximately 90 military targets were struck, including air defense systems, coastal surveillance elements, missile and UAV depots, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure in Iran.
Iran, for its part, claimed that it had launched missile attacks on US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain in response. The Iranian Ministry of Health announced that 14 people were killed and 78 injured in the two-day US attacks.
