Iran's Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei announced that despite the agreement with the US, which foresees an end to attacks, Tehran continues to maintain a cautious stance. Ejei stated that if promises are not kept, Iran is ready to return to conflict.
Addressing Supreme Court judges and staff in the capital Tehran on Tuesday, Ejei emphasized the need to closely monitor the parties despite the agreement coming into effect. According to him, the opposing side is not trustworthy, and Iran is prepared to respond to any potential violations.
60-Day Negotiation Period
Ejei said that following the signing of the memorandum of understanding with the US on Friday, a 60-day negotiation period will begin. During this time, discussions will focus on Iran's nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions imposed on the country.
The senior Iranian judicial official also stated that Iranian representatives will not compromise the country's rights during the talks. Ejei emphasized that protecting national interests will be the fundamental principle at the negotiation table.
In his speech, Ejei also addressed US-Israeli aggression, stating that Iran will not back down in the face of pressure and threats. His message highlighted calm if the agreement holds, and readiness to respond again if it breaks down.
