US President Donald Trump made statements regarding the Middle East agenda following his meeting with United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 Summit held in Evian-les-Bains, France.
Trump said the Strait of Hormuz would be fully reopened by June 19. Noting that ship traffic in the strait has started to pick up again, Trump stated that oil flow has resumed and prices are rapidly falling.
He also mentioned that the stock market has seen gains. Trump described these developments as positive and emphasized that the most important issue is that Iran must not possess nuclear weapons.
Regarding the agreement reached with Iran, Trump said Tehran wants to finalize the negotiations. He indicated the process could move quickly, adding that it could be short or long.
These statements come at a time when tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and the Iran dossier are closely monitored for their impact on global energy markets and diplomacy.
