Speaking at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Iranian diplomat Nasser Asedi objected to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressing the UN podium. Asedi said Netanyahu should speak in a courtroom instead of at the United Nations.
Asedi said the United Nations was established to maintain peace and deliver justice, adding that it was not a platform for war criminals to speak.
Asedi also said that the International Criminal Court had issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, stating that the Israeli prime minister belonged in a courtroom, not at the United Nations podium.

Several international delegations left the meeting hall while Netanyahu was speaking at the General Assembly. The delegations protested the continuation of attacks in Gaza despite the ceasefire, the seizure of land in the occupied West Bank, and attacks on Syria and Lebanon.
Netanyahu also faced protests from crowds gathered outside the United Nations building.
