Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on October 4 that his country was open to diplomatic solutions during a meeting with heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Tehran.

Araghchi said Iran was ready to reach a fair and dignified solution to end the war if diplomatic channels were used. He said Iran faced a choice between military conflict and a diplomatic solution.

Araghchi said Iran would deliver a stronger response than it had previously given if the United States resumed its attacks, adding that his country would defend itself with greater force.
Araghchi said further sanctions would not end the conflict either and described the attack on his country as unlawful. Efforts to end the war have continued since a framework agreement reached on June 18, which is intended to pave the way for a final peace deal covering navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program.
