Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a stern warning to Washington following the agreement reached with the US. Ghalibaf stated that Iran will not hesitate to respond if the terms of the agreement are not respected.
In a statement on his social media account, Ghalibaf said their duty is to ensure the implementation of the agreement's terms and provisions. He added that if the other side fails to keep its word, violates the agreement, or makes excessive demands, Iran will deliver a crushing response.
The Iranian politician intensified his tone of threat, saying that if the same path is chosen again, a harsher response will be given this time. Ghalibaf clarified his message with the words, "They were slapped once in the war; if they choose the same path, they will receive a harsher slap this time."
The statement came immediately after the signing of the agreement. The Tehran administration expressed its expectations regarding the implementation process and emphasized that all parties must adhere to their obligations.
Ghalibaf's remarks are seen as one of the first signs of tension over the future of the agreement. The Iranian side clearly announced that a tougher stance will be taken in case of violations or excessive demands.
