Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the country's leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, discussed Iran's economic needs and developments in military conditions.
According to a statement from the Iranian presidency, the meeting took place on Sunday as Pezeshkian entered his third year as Iran's president. The two discussed the country's current problems and needs.
Basic needs and energy supply
The meeting addressed meeting the public's basic needs, military developments amid wartime conditions, financing opportunities and securing foreign currency resources. Ensuring energy supplies was also among the topics discussed.
Pezeshkian and Mojtaba Khamenei also assessed the management of public spending, Iran's economic relations with other countries and opportunities for cooperation in this field.

Clashes since February 28
Media reports alleging that Mojtaba Khamenei was seriously injured in an attack targeting the office and residence of former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei on February 28 resurfaced after his meeting with Pezeshkian.
According to Iran's statement, US and Israeli attacks against Iran began on February 28. The Iranian administration said 3,000 people had been killed during the process. The same statement said that Americans and Israelis were killed in Iran's counterattacks.
While cautious calm has prevailed in the region alongside waves of military clashes since February 28, negotiations between the United States and Iran continue intermittently. The Strait of Hormuz has been one of the key topics in the talks.
Iran also carried out attacks on locations it said contained military facilities and equipment in Gulf countries. Civilians were killed and civilian facilities were damaged in some of these attacks; the targeted countries condemned the attacks and called for them to end.
