Crossings in the occupied West Bank and Gaza will be completely closed from Oct. 5 to 7 as part of events marking the anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023 events.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the measure would be implemented following a security assessment and the recommendation of the Israeli army.

Palestinians’ movement to be restricted
The closure will cover crossings in the West Bank and Gaza during events to be held to mark the anniversary of the Oct. 7, 2023 events.

Israel also halted crossings from the occupied West Bank the previous week, citing the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.
During that period, military measures were increased in the West Bank, further restricting Palestinians’ freedom of movement. Workers who came from the West Bank to East Jerusalem and other areas for work were also not allowed to cross.
