Ceasefire process in Lebanon
The Israeli army launched intense airstrikes on Lebanon on March 2 and occupied many towns in the south of the country. The Lebanese government announced that the number of people displaced in the country had exceeded 1 million during this period.
The ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, which took effect on April 17, was extended several times afterward. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that at least 4,383 people had been killed in Israeli attacks since March 2.
Following the fifth round of direct negotiations held in Washington, Lebanon and Israel signed a framework agreement on June 26.
