Israeli flag scuffle at student blockade outside Sciences Po in Paris
A woman waving an Israeli flag on Oct. 7 near a student blockade outside Sciences Po in Paris had the flag taken from her, and a France Unbowed lawmaker stepped in to separate those involved.
Tensions flared in Paris during France’s ongoing student protests over poor education conditions when a woman unfurled an Israeli flag near the student barricade outside Sciences Po on Boulevard Saint-Germain on Oct. 7.
According to Israel Hayom, the woman invoked Oct. 7 before a man climbed over the barricades and pulled the flag from her hands. France Unbowed (LFI) lawmaker Thomas Portes intervened to separate them.
The protests, launched by high school students on Sept. 17 and since spread to universities, have led to more than 6,500 detentions.
