A home near the town of Ansar in Nabatieh province was targeted during Israel's attacks on southern Lebanon. The airstrike killed seven people and injured three others.
The Lebanese official news agency reported that air and artillery strikes intensified in the morning after the night between Saturday and Sunday. The Ali al-Tahir hill, near Nabatieh al-Fawqa, was also among the targets of the airstrikes.
Search operations continue at the site of the destroyed home
Lebanese medical and civil defense teams are continuing search-and-rescue operations in the rubble of the destroyed home. The injured were taken to hospitals in the city of Nabatieh, while the bodies of those killed are being removed from the rubble.
The Lebanese official news agency said the strike near Ansar was the deepest geographically since the ceasefire took effect two months ago.
Strikes in Nabatieh and Bint Jbeil
The Lebanese official news agency also alleged that the Israeli army bombed the Ali al-Tahir woodland and hill in Nabatieh province with phosphorus munitions. It said two airstrikes were carried out near the teachers' school and the vicinity of the Husseini club in Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
Homes were destroyed in the city of Bint Jbeil and surrounding villages, while homes around the Qan’in-Safful Hawa road came under fire from heavy machine guns.
Death toll from the clashes continues to rise
The attacks have continued despite the framework agreement signed on June 26, which provides for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory. Lebanese authorities said that 4,335 people had been killed, 12,277 injured and more than 1 million displaced in the clashes that began on March 2.
Israeli forces are present in some areas of southern Lebanon, while advances of more than 10 kilometers into Lebanese territory have also taken place during the current clashes.
