Türkiye and Lebanon discussed energy cooperation opportunities on Wednesday, September 23, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar met with Lebanon’s Minister of Energy and Water Resources Joseph Sadi.
The meeting addressed joint projects that could connect the two countries’ electricity grids, as well as options for transporting hydrocarbons through pipelines. Bayraktar said Türkiye and Lebanon had opportunities for joint energy projects.
Bayraktar said Türkiye’s experience in energy infrastructure and resource diversification could be translated into concrete areas of cooperation based on the needs and priorities of Lebanon’s energy sector.
Bayraktar said joint projects could provide reliable and uninterrupted access to energy resources across the region, adding that the efforts could contribute to regional energy security, prosperity and stability.
