High-level diplomatic negotiations between the two countries officially began under U.S. auspices with a meeting held on April 14, 2026, at the U.S. Department of State building in Washington.
The negotiations addressed a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, border security arrangements, and the status of detainees and missing persons.
