An attack in an area where civilians had gathered in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood north of Gaza City killed 15-year-old Muhammad and wounded medic Sharif Labed.
Muhammad ran with others to help Labed, who had been wounded in an attack carried out by an Israeli army drone. The location where the medic and the 15-year-old were present was targeted again with a missile shortly afterward. Muhammad and Labed were killed in the explosion.
Muhammad’s belongings remain behind
Muhammad’s schoolbag, notebook, book, sandals, clothes and photographs were left behind. His mother, Umm Muhammad, said her son was very brave and helpful.
Umm Muhammad said her son had returned from memorizing the Quran on the day of the attack and wanted to carry water home. She said Muhammad later went outside and tried to help the wounded person when the attack began in the street, adding that the missile targeted her son.
Umm Muhammad said her son was taken to the hospital covered in blood and described her pain as too heavy to put into words. “They bombed my child, who wanted to help,” she said, describing her son’s death.
“He was loved by everyone”
Umm Muhammad said her son was compassionate and dutiful toward her. Describing Muhammad as “like a prayer from a prophet,” she said he was loved by everyone around him.
Umm Muhammad said Muhammad woke up for the morning prayer every day, went to school and carried water for his family. She added that her son attended Quran lessons and memorized passages after school.
Children continue to die in Gaza
More than 21,000 children have been killed in the Gaza Strip since October 2023. Babies, children and women have also been killed in the attacks, while it has become difficult even to find burial space for those who have died.
Attacks by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip continued despite the ceasefire that took effect on October 10, 2025.
