As Israeli soldiers’ actions continue in southern Lebanon, several homes in Tiri, a town in the Bint Jbeil district of Nabatieh governorate, were set on fire. Lebanon’s official National News Agency, NNA, attributed the incident to Israeli soldiers.
The Deir neighborhood in Upper Nabatieh was targeted by intermittent Israeli artillery fire in the morning. Detonations were also carried out in Majdal Zoun, a town in the Tyre district.
In the capital Beirut, an Israeli drone reportedly flew at low altitude from the morning hours onward.
Attacks, displacement and ceasefire in Lebanon
While the Israeli army launched intensive airstrikes on Lebanon on March 2, it also occupied many towns in the country’s south. The Lebanese government said the number of people displaced during this period exceeded 1 million.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry said at least 4,383 people had been killed in attacks carried out since March 2.
The ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, which took effect on April 17, was later extended several times. Following the fifth round of direct negotiations held in Washington, the two countries signed a framework agreement on June 26.
