Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a phone call to discuss recent developments in the region. According to a statement from the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, the two ministers expressed concern over the escalation of tensions in Iran despite a memorandum of understanding signed in June.
During the call, they agreed that a resumption of conflict would benefit no party and would undermine efforts for regional peace and stability. Pakistani Foreign Minister Dar reiterated his call for all parties to exercise maximum restraint and allow the necessary time and space for mediation efforts.
The two ministers also agreed to maintain close contact in the face of this escalation in a sensitive region of the Islamic world. The call is seen as part of diplomatic efforts among Muslim countries in the region to preserve stability.
