Palestinian flag flies over Konya’s Karapınar beneath a Turkish paraglider
Turkish athlete Mustafa Ulutaş glided over the Göktepe flight area in Karapınar, Konya, carrying a large Palestinian flag in solidarity with the Palestinian people as onlookers applauded.
In a striking show of solidarity, Turkish athlete Mustafa Ulutaş paraglided over the Karapınar district of Konya province carrying a Palestinian flag in support of the Palestinian people.
Ulutaş, who heads the Karapınar Nature and Flight Sports club, made his flight over the Göktepe Flight Area, where onlookers greeted him with applause.
A flag over volcanic land
The large Palestinian flag hung beneath the paraglider as it passed over the volcanic hills and crater lake the area is known for, before Ulutaş landed after circling in the air.
Solidarity with Palestinians draws broad support among the Turkish public, with cities across Türkiye regularly hosting events for Gaza and the Palestinian people.
