Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian gifted Swiss Confederation President Guy Parmelin a book titled “American aid to the Iranian people” during their meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The book contains photographs and information documenting, according to the Iranian side, the damage inflicted on civilian targets and facilities in Iran as a result of US attacks.
The book also addresses the US sanctions imposed on Iran, as well as the assassinations of Iranian scientists and leaders, Iranian media outlets reported.
Footage from the meeting showed Pezeshkian displaying the book’s pages to Parmelin and explaining its contents to him.
The gesture came as relations between Tehran and Washington remain sharply strained, coinciding with Pezeshkian’s participation in the United Nations General Assembly meetings in New York.

Pezeshkian sends messages to Washington from New York
In his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Pezeshkian accused the United States and Israel of launching illegal attacks targeting civilians, while affirming Tehran’s readiness for negotiations and rejecting what he described as policies of pressure and force.
Pezeshkian’s gift to the Swiss president came as part of the political messages carried by the Iranian delegation to New York concerning the confrontation with the United States and the consequences of military operations and sanctions against Iran.
Switzerland has played an important diplomatic role between Tehran and Washington for decades, representing US interests in Iran amid the absence of direct diplomatic relations between the two countries.
