Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that his country will fulfill its commitments if the United States abides by the memorandum of understanding. Pezeshkian emphasized that Tehran's approach is rational, but its defense will be resolute when necessary.
In a post on his social media account, Pezeshkian said, "Understanding is a two-way matter. If the American side abides by the memorandum of understanding, we will fulfill our commitments."
The Iranian president stated, "In the face of irrational bluffs and baseless threats, our approach relies on rationality and human dignity in decision-making; when it comes to action, it is a decisive and courageous defense."
The statement came after new military clashes that strained the June 18 ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States. Iran's Revolutionary Guards struck US military targets in Kuwait and Bahrain on Sunday in retaliation for American airstrikes. Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the US attacks as a clear violation of the agreement.
