Syrian Central Bank Governor Muhammad Safwat Reslan evaluated the reduction in fuel prices. Reslan stated that this step is a positive development that will alleviate production costs, support market activity, and positively impact economic activity.
In a post on platform X, Reslan said that the stability of the Syrian pound is not solely dependent on monetary policy but begins with a productive economy, active investments, and mutual trust between the state, citizens, and the private sector.
Noting that any step contributing to increasing production will ultimately serve the stability of the pound, Reslan added that the Central Bank will continue to work in cooperation with all relevant parties to maintain monetary stability and strengthen confidence in the Syrian pound. He noted that the strength of the national currency is a natural result of the strength of the economy.
