Qatar called for a return to negotiations between Iran and the United States to reduce rising tensions in the Middle East. Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari made the remarks at a press conference in Doha.
Al-Ansari said that renewed escalation was in no actor's interest in the region and called for calm. The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson said his country was working with all its partners to find a peaceful solution and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Al-Ansari also demanded that Israel end its escalation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank. He accused Israel of using regional developments to create a new reality in Palestine, Lebanon and Syria.
Iranian Revolutionary Guards announce attacks
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Monday that it had shot down a US unmanned aerial vehicle over the Strait of Hormuz and that the vehicle had fallen into Gulf waters.
The Revolutionary Guards also said that ballistic missile attacks had been carried out against the King Hussein and Azraq air bases in Jordan. The statement said that Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates had been targeted with explosive-laden unmanned aerial vehicles.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps said the attacks were retaliation for an attack reportedly carried out by the United States on Iran's Larak Island on Sunday. The attack was alleged to have aimed to prevent the placement of naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global energy shipments.
