Fighting intensifies again in Yemen
Fighting between government forces and the Houthis has intensified in Yemen in recent days. The Iran-backed Houthis claim to have come under attack and have carried out attacks against Saudi Arabia using ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Yemen’s civil war began after the Iran-backed Houthis seized control of the capital, Sanaa, and several provinces in September 2014. The Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia has supported Yemen’s internationally recognized government since March 2015.
