Satellite images show Saudi RE-3A heavily damaged in March Iranian strike, report says
Militarnyi cited satellite imagery of Prince Sultan Air Base.
An Iranian strike in March 2026 severely damaged a Royal Saudi Air Force RE-3A surveillance aircraft at Prince Sultan Air Base, Ukrainian military outlet Militarnyi reported, citing satellite imagery published by the open-source analyst Egypt’s Intel Observer. The imagery also shows traces of fires where U.S. aircraft were destroyed. The RE-3A is a Boeing 707-based surveillance aircraft. Militarnyi said the U.S. lost about 50 aircraft during and after Operation Epic Fury, including up to 30 MQ-9A Reapers according to the Pentagon.
