Saudi Arabia's state energy giant Saudi Aramco resumed oil loading on Friday at the Ras Tanura terminal in the Persian Gulf after a hiatus of about four months.
According to ship-tracking data provided by LSEG, two Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) were loading crude oil at the terminal, while another tanker was seen waiting nearby. Each VLCC has a capacity of 2 million barrels of oil.
Saudi Aramco could not be reached for comment outside business hours.
According to the data, the Saudi energy giant made its last shipment from the Ras Tanura port on March 8 to China. Iran's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz during its war with the US and Israel prevented ships from entering the Gulf, forcing Aramco to redirect all its exports to the Yanbu port on the Red Sea.
After the US and Iran reached a temporary agreement to halt the war, Middle Eastern producers began increasing their production and exports.
