Iranian General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan announced that the country's military doctrine has shifted from defense to offense. Pourdastan stated that if the Islamic order requires it, they can conduct preemptive operations in unknown areas to surprise the enemy.
Doctrine Change and Preemptive Operations
Speaking to local Iranian media, General Pourdastan said, "Iran's military doctrine has shifted from defense to offense." Emphasizing that preemptive operations are also defined within this offensive doctrine, Pourdastan said, "If the Islamic order requires it, we can carry out preemptive operations in unknown areas by surprising the enemy."
Capabilities of the Armed Forces
General Pourdastan stated that they have yet to deploy a significant portion of the armed forces' capabilities, warning, "The enemy knows that if they make any mistake, they will face a response beyond the borders and the Strait of Hormuz."
Recent Conflicts and the Resistance Front
Evaluating the recent 12-day and 40-day wars, Pourdastan argued that the Islamic Republic and the Resistance Front successfully conducted a completely unequal war against the US-led "Hebrew, Western, and Arab" coalition.
Pourdastan emphasized that the most important sign of victory in these wars was the enemy's request for a ceasefire, saying, "In the history of war, the losing side always asks for a ceasefire. Despite 46 years of sanctions, the resistance of our fighters drove the enemy to despair. Today, the boasting of American officials stems not from strength, but from this despair and the decline of the United States."
Full Support for Lebanon
General Pourdastan also touched on developments in Lebanon, announcing that Iran is fully prepared to defend the Lebanese people.
