The Saudi-led Arab Coalition said 11 people were injured in attacks in the Najran region, adding that the incident took place in civilian settlements in southern Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesman Brig. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said on Thursday, August 6, that the Houthis had targeted civilian settlements in Najran.
According to al-Maliki, seven of the 11 people injured were Saudi citizens. Those injured included a 4-year-old child with second-degree burns and a woman.
The coalition spokesman claimed that the attacks used indiscriminate munitions against civilians, constituting a clear violation of international humanitarian law and the rules of customary international law.
Al-Maliki said the Arab Coalition Joint Forces Command would continue taking deterrent measures against similar attacks to protect the civilian population. The coalition described the attacks as “terrorist attacks.”
