Israeli Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli said French President Emmanuel Macron had taken an anti-Israel stance, despite a ceasefire being declared as Israeli attacks continued in Gaza.
In an interview with Channel 14, Chikli criticized Macron’s Gaza policy and argued that the French president had “stabbed Israel in the back.” Chikli said, “He stabbed us in the back and twisted the knife even further.”
Chikli said the far-right National Rally was the political group in France that supported Israel’s position. The Israeli Diaspora minister also declared his opposition to rulings concerning Israel by the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice.
Macron announced on September 22, 2025, that France recognized the State of Palestine while Israeli attacks on Gaza were continuing.
