Skytrax names Turkish Airlines Europe's best airline for 11th time
Turkish Airlines was named Europe's Best Airline for the 11th time at the Skytrax World Airline Awards announced on September 19, 2026. The company achieved success in a total of eight different categories at the 2026 awards.
The results of the Skytrax World Airline Awards, announced on September 19, 2026, showed that Turkish Airlines continues to lead in Europe. Turkish Airlines was named Europe's Best Airline for the 11th time and achieved success in a total of eight different categories at the 2026 event.
The company won the World's Best Business Class Onboard Catering award for the 10th time. Named the Best Airline in Southern Europe for the 13th time, Turkish Airlines also rose to fifth place in Skytrax's ranking of the world's best airlines.
European top spot extended into a third year
Turkish Airlines' run of awards in the European category began in 2024. The company was named Europe's Best Airline that year, winning the title for the ninth time, and received the same award for the 10th time in 2025.
In 2025, Turkish Airlines also received awards in the categories of the world's best business-class onboard catering and Best Airline in Southern Europe. With the 2026 results, its European top ranking reached a third consecutive year, while its fifth-place position in the global ranking and increase in the number of awards took the company's performance beyond its regional title.
The awards are based on passenger evaluations
The Skytrax World Airline Awards rank airlines across different service categories based on passenger evaluations. The awards Turkish Airlines won in 2026 covered not only the overall airline category but also business-class catering, economy- and business-class services, and the Europe and Southern Europe categories.
The Turkish Airlines Communications Office announced that the company had been named Europe's Best Airline for the 11th time and had won a total of eight awards. A statement issued on behalf of Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines, emphasized that the results were the outcome of the company's employees' efforts and its focus on passenger experience.
Murat Şeker, Deputy General Manager of Turkish Airlines, described winning the title of Europe's Best Airline for the 11th time, along with the achievements in other categories, as a source of pride. The awards highlighted the company's performance, considered alongside its service quality and global flight network.
