Old Square neighborhood in Lebanon’s southern Upper Nabatieh region was hit by two Israeli airstrikes. The ambulance team traveling to the area after the attacks was reportedly targeted in a third airstrike.
The ambulance team escaped the attack unharmed. A large explosion also occurred in the town of Khiam, which the Israeli army holds under occupation in southern Lebanon.

Attacks in southern Lebanon
On March 2, the Israeli army launched intensive airstrikes on Lebanon and occupied dozens of towns in the country’s south. The Lebanese government announced that the number of people displaced within the country had exceeded 1 million following the attacks.
The ceasefire that took effect between Lebanon and Israel on April 17 was extended several times afterward. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said that at least 4,386 people had been killed in Israeli attacks since March 2.

Framework agreement after the ceasefire
Following the fifth round of direct talks between Israel and Lebanon in Washington, the two countries signed a framework agreement on June 26.
