Türkiye and Guinea agreed to establish a platform between the two countries’ ministries to carry out work focused on trade and investment. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Türkiye’s Trade Minister Ömer Bolat and Guinea’s Minister of Industry and Trade Abu Bakr Koroma on the sidelines of the 42nd Ministerial Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul.
Bolat said the two sides also agreed to establish the necessary contacts to develop cooperation in standardization and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Projects under Simandou 2040
The Turkish minister said the meeting discussed projects that Turkish businesspeople could undertake under Simandou 2040, Guinea’s 15-year national development plan built around the Simandou iron ore project. The two sides also stressed the importance of growing Turkish investments in Guinea’s energy and infrastructure sectors in recent years.
The ministers discussed possible steps toward reaching the $500 million trade volume target set by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and designated contact points to ensure the swift resolution of problems facing Turkish investors.
The Turkish Embassy in Conakry described the meeting as “new steps in economic and trade cooperation between Türkiye and Guinea.”
