Türkiye's newly appointed ambassador to Kuwait, Can Oğuz, spoke at a panel titled "Cybersecurity Challenges, Government Efforts and Investment Opportunities," held as part of the seventh Gulf Conference and Exhibition on Cybersecurity Challenges, hosted by Kuwait under the patronage of Minister of Defense Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
The panel also featured Canadian Ambassador Tara Scheurwater, British Deputy Ambassador Stuart Summers and U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Stephen Butler. It was moderated by Dr. Bassem Al-Qassem, rapporteur of the conference's scientific committee.

The participants discussed national policies and initiatives to counter cyberthreats and cybercrime, as well as challenges arising from the rapid development of artificial intelligence technologies, the risks of their misuse and ways to regulate them. They also addressed partnerships linking their countries with Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
The session also examined investment opportunities in the cybersecurity sector, public-private cooperation and the importance of protecting systems, networks and critical infrastructure.

The conference is being held on November 4 and 5 under the slogan "Building Capabilities and Enhancing Readiness: Innovation and Governance," in cooperation with the Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology and the Kuwait Banking Association.
