Yemen’s Ministry of Defense announced that government forces carried out 356 military operations against Houthi targets over the past 24 hours. The ministry said 476 Houthi members were killed or wounded, according to the reported toll.
Colonel Majid al-Nuzayli, the armed forces spokesman, said the operations targeted Houthi reinforcements and military capabilities.
Targets struck on 10 fronts
The operations were conducted on 10 fronts stretching from northern Yemen to the western coast, the south and central parts of the country. The fronts included the western coast; Haradh in northwestern Hajjah province and nearby al-Tuwal; Kitaf, al-Baqa and Alb in Saada province; northeastern al-Jawf; eastern Marib; southern Lahij; southwestern Taiz; and central al-Bayda.

Yemen’s Ministry of Defense said command and control centers, weapons depots and field artillery were destroyed during the operations. The ministry also said some Houthi military vehicles were destroyed or damaged.
Ministry accuses Houthis
The ministry alleged that the Houthis were using civilians as human shields. It also claimed that some schools had been converted into command centers, weapons depots and military supply points.

The Houthis have not yet commented on the statement by Yemen’s Ministry of Defense.
The course of the conflict in Yemen
The conflict in Yemen began after the Houthis seized control of the capital, Sanaa, and some provinces in 2014. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in 2015 to support Yemen’s internationally recognized government.
The conflict intensified in September, as the Houthis took control of several key areas in the provinces of Hudaydah and Taiz, as well as the strategic city of Mokha, and reached Mayyun Island overlooking the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
