Zelenskyy calls on UAE leader for support on Black Sea security and food crisis
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a phone call with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, sought cooperation on Black Sea security and global food shipments. Zelenskyy thanked the UAE for its support of Ukraine's peace efforts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke by phone with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In a statement on his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy thanked the UAE leader for his support of Ukraine's peace efforts and his understanding of the situation. The Ukrainian president also emphasized that this year his country has made significant contributions to the security of its partners in the Persian Gulf region.
During the leaders' meeting, security in the Black Sea region, the safety of maritime transport routes, and global food security were the prominent topics. Zelenskyy and Al Nahyan discussed how the UAE could assist Ukraine in Europe and especially in the Black Sea region.
The Ukrainian president also reported that the meeting addressed increasing capabilities for the protection of civilian life and the implementation of joint bilateral projects in various fields.
