Syrian singer Asala Nasri will perform a series of concerts in the United States in a tour presented by concert organizer Talents & Events as her first in the country.
The tour begins on October 23 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre, which hosts the annual Academy Awards ceremony, before moving to Detroit’s Fox Theatre in Michigan on October 31 at 8 p.m.

The Detroit event organizer said the program will feature Asala’s best-known songs, including tracks from her 1991 album “Law Taarefo,” and will span Syrian, Egyptian and Gulf dialects.
Asala began singing at an early age under the guidance of her father, composer and singer Mustafa Nasri. She has released more than 20 albums, and her 2006 album “Hayati” was among Rotana’s best-selling releases.
