CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper addressed US actions targeting Iran’s crude oil exports and said they had prevented oil worth at least $25 billion from leaving the country.
Speaking in a video message published by CENTCOM, Cooper argued that US attacks had significantly weakened Iran’s military capacity. He said the United States had imposed a stringent naval blockade twice to demonstrate its resolve and that the measure remained in place.
Cooper said Iran could not export or import goods by sea except in cases where humanitarian aid shipments were permitted. Regarding Iran’s crude oil exports, he also said they had prevented oil worth at least $25 billion from leaving the country.
Cooper said the United States, together with other institutions, had helped freeze digital crypto assets worth approximately $350 million. He argued that the measure further restricted Iran’s economy and its ability to replace the weapons systems that had been destroyed.

About 400 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past seven days
Cooper also addressed maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, saying the waterway was not under Iran’s control but under the oversight of the United States and its partners in the region. He said the strait was fully open to commercial shipping and that about 400 commercial vessels had passed through it in the past seven days.
Cooper said that during the same period, US forces had supported the shipment of more than 100 million barrels of crude oil to their partners in the Persian Gulf.
The CENTCOM commander also said that the total volume of crude oil shipments made by allies in the region through the Strait of Hormuz in recent months had exceeded 1.3 billion barrels.
