A private school building in the town of Hula in southern Lebanon was demolished with explosives planted by the Israeli army. The attack took place while the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel remained in effect.
The Israeli army targeted the outskirts of Baraachit, a town in Nabatieh, with artillery fire. Israeli warplanes also bombed several towns in Kafr Tebnit and the city of Tyre.
Israeli artillery reportedly fired on Khiam and repeatedly shelled the towns of Tallouseh and Bani Hayyan, while Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes on Bani Hayyan. The outskirts of Mayfadoun and Zawtar al-Sharqiyah came under heavy artillery fire, and Mansouri and Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district were also targeted. Most of the public school in Mansouri had been destroyed earlier, with only a small part of the building still standing.
Southern Lebanon targeted during ceasefire
Attacks and violations in southern Lebanon continued despite the ceasefire. The Israeli army began intensive airstrikes on Lebanon on March 2 and occupied dozens of towns in the country’s south.

The Lebanese government said following the attacks that the number of displaced people had exceeded 1 million.

Ceasefire extended several times
The ceasefire that took effect between Lebanon and Israel on April 17 was later extended several times. Following the fifth round of direct talks held in Washington, the two countries signed a framework agreement on June 26.
According to the latest statement by Lebanon’s Health Ministry, at least 4,386 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Lebanon since March 2.
