Emine Erdoğan, wife of Türkiye’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, called for intensified international efforts to protect children, particularly those living in conflict zones, stressing the need to keep their needs at the forefront of the international agenda.
Speaking at the Global Summit on Investment in Children’s Well-Being, held in Uzbekistan’s Samarkand with representatives from more than 100 countries in attendance, she said: “Let us raise our voices to solve the problems of children in war zones, who cannot even dream of the future.”

She said access to food, shelter, security, education and health care remains essential, noting that climate change, armed conflicts, forced displacement and digital threats must be taken into account when assessing children’s well-being.
She said more than 21,000 children had been killed in Gaza over the past three years and that more than 10,000 had suffered permanent disabilities, while around 700,000 students had been deprived of their right to education.
