As fighting between government forces and the Houthis continues in Yemen’s Taiz governorate, 1,790 families have been forced to leave their homes over the past two days.
The clashes are concentrated on several fronts along the western coasts of Taiz and Hudaydah governorates, particularly near the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Airstrikes carried out along western coasts
The Yemen Army Media Center said that more than 15 airstrikes had targeted Houthi positions, gathering areas and military vehicles along the western coasts of Taiz and Hudaydah.
Heavy fighting between government forces and the Houthis has continued since yesterday morning. Deaths and injuries have been reported on both sides.
The continuation of the clashes in the area is increasing concerns that the death toll could rise further.
