A Houthi-affiliated channel in Yemen announced that an airstrike had been carried out against the Sibaha facility owned by the Yemen Petroleum Company in the capital Sanaa.
Explosions were heard in the city after the Arab coalition backing the Yemeni government announced preparations to attack Sanaa, which is controlled by the Houthis.

Petroleum products had been moved elsewhere
The Sibaha facility targeted in the attack was said to be empty and to contain no petroleum products. The products at the facility had previously been transported to other locations.
No information was provided on whether the incident caused casualties or material damage.
Coalition urged civilians to leave
The Arab coalition backing the Yemeni government urged civilians at the Yemen Petroleum Company's facility in Sanaa to leave the area for security reasons.
Yahya Saree, the Houthis' military spokesman, said that if Sanaa were attacked, they would respond with a strong and painful retaliation against Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Saree also called on employees of Saudi Arabia's national oil company Aramco and civilians to leave the facilities, saying that the facilities would be targeted.

Background to Yemen's civil war
Clashes between government forces and the Houthis in Yemen have intensified recently. The Houthis, who are backed by Iran, have carried out attacks against Saudi Arabia using ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The civil war in the country began after the Houthis seized control of the capital Sanaa and several provinces in September 2014. The Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia has supported Yemen's internationally recognized government since March 2015.
