Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref announced that they had prepared a plan to counter economic warfare in response to US sanctions and the naval blockade imposed on the country.
Aref argued that the US and Israel aimed not only to exert economic pressure but also to damage Iran’s social capital. Describing the protection of social capital as “jihad,” Aref said the opposing side would also be defeated on this front.
“We have a program to counter economic warfare. The enemy will also be defeated on this front.”
The dollar exchange rate in Iran’s free foreign exchange market was reported to have reached 225,000 tomans.
