Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke on a television program about his country's war process and negotiation dynamics with the US and Israel. While explaining the process of restarting negotiations, Araghchi stated that the enemy, after completing its military preparations, demanded a halt to uranium enrichment activities and conveyed the message that otherwise an attack would be launched.
The minister said that a decision to negotiate was made following this development, and that the main purpose of this decision was to prevent anyone from later saying 'if there had been negotiations, there would have been no war.' Araghchi added that the relevant institutions were certain that war would resume, and that the Armed Forces were instructed to be prepared.
The minister reported that after 12 days of war, a Nuclear Committee was established, which later turned into a negotiation committee, and that all decisions taken went through the approval process of the Supreme National Security Council.
In his speech, Araghchi also touched on the February 28 attack in which Iran's former leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei allegedly lost his life, and made the following assessment:
They knew that the leader was in the office every morning. As far as I understand, the command center meeting was also being held two or three buildings away, and they chose exactly that moment. The Intelligence Ministry's meeting was also taking place at that time. Therefore, the attack on the leader's office occurred due to a security breach, and this breach probably still exists.
