Iraqi Airways resumed its direct flights to Iran on Thursday after a seven-month hiatus.
Daily flights will operate from Najaf International Airport to Tehran, Mashhad and Isfahan.
The flights resumed after the necessary regulatory and technical requirements were completed, following efforts led by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zeidi and Transport Minister Wahab al-Hasani.
Iraqi Airways said reopening the Iran routes would facilitate passenger travel and expand Iraq’s regional air connections. Daily services are expected to support journeys for religious visits, healthcare and education in particular.

Flights were suspended at the beginning of March
Iraqi Airways suspended flights to Iran at the beginning of March as a precaution after the conflict described as the U.S.-Israel war began on February 28.
Iraq also closed its airspace as military tensions in the region escalated.
