Israeli settlers set up yet another illegal outpost in the occupied West Bank, pitching tents right next to Palestinian homes in the Nasba area of Yasuf village, east of Salfit city.
Cuma Abdulfettah, head of the Yasuf Village Council, told Anadolu Agency that the new outpost was set up just 50 meters from Palestinian homes. He stressed that this was the third illegal settlement established in the area in the past two days.
The village official, noting that violations by Israeli settlers have become constant, said that two Palestinian homes are also under threat of demolition. Abdulfettah stated that these new settlements are part of a policy to effectively impose illegal outposts and restrict the freedom of movement of Palestinians.
The United Nations recognizes the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as occupied Palestinian territory and considers all Israeli settlement activities there illegal under international law. These expanding outposts often start with mobile homes or tents, later turning into permanent structures with the support of the Israeli government.
