Israeli settlers who attacked the Nabi Salih Mosque on Saturday evening in Idhna, in the southern occupied West Bank, physically assaulted Palestinians before the attack. The Israeli army then raided the Jalatiya neighborhood and detained seven Palestinians.
WAFA, the official Palestinian news agency, reported that Israeli forces fired live ammunition into the air and used sound and tear gas grenades during the raid. The forces detained seven Palestinians after removing them from the mosque.
In the Jalatiya neighborhood, settlers set up tents on land belonging to Palestinians, brought a flock of sheep to the area and damaged a Palestinian's vehicle.
Raids continue across the West Bank
During an Israeli army raid on the Dheisheh Refugee Camp south of Bethlehem, some Palestinians faced the risk of suffocation because of sound and tear gas grenades. Local sources said the windows of some vehicles in the camp were broken.
Israeli forces also raided the city center of al-Bireh in the central West Bank. After the raid, during which gunfire was heard and sound and tear gas grenades were used, the forces withdrew from the area, with no injuries or detentions reported.
Israeli raids are carried out every day in cities, towns and refugee camps across the West Bank. Palestinians are detained during these raids, while attacks targeting people and their property also occur.
